The King Come's To Dungloe - He Is Alive!

Liam Murphy: It's Elvis Tour Come to Dungloe
It is believed that there are in excess of 85,000 Elvis Impersonators in the world today! (Source experts.about.com)

In the USA the top impersonators from around the world compete in the “Elvis Idol” Competition for the title.

In June 2006, an Irishman named Liam Murphy WON the competition beating off all his competitors from around the globe and catapulted him to international acclaim.

Not only is Liam’s voice identical to Elvis, his show is exhilarating and action packed. The two hour show features most of Elvis’s big hits and also Elvis songs that most impersonators would be afraid to attempt, like Bridge Over Troubled Water, and You’ve Lost that Lovin’ Feeling to name a few and he's coming to Dungloe.

Here's a link to watch him performing Suspicious Minds LIVE: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nxa4EhThCtI

Liam Murphy's : It's Elvis Concert starts at 9:30 pm Friday 30th July on the Main Street Stage and it's absolutely FREE!!

Our Day Today - Wednesday 28th SuperValu Fun Day, Leo's Tavern & Introduction

2009 MFD Kate Ferguson,  Áine Sweeney & Edinburgh
Mary Gemma Ferry at Leo's Tavern
Hi everyone, another hectic day today for us after the great night we had on the Main Street doing a bit of line dancing to the country and western singers Elaine Boyle, Lisa McHugh and Shaun McMonagal! We all collapsed into bed after all the yesterdays events!

Today we where up early and first call was the SuperValu Fun Day where we meet so many lovely people and the kids where amazing, we where like celebrities for a few hours! We all joined in on the fun, a few bruises now from the bouncing castles but nothing Sally Hansen won't cover!

Then we went to Leo's Tavern in Meenaleck, home of the famous Clannad, Enya and also Leo Breanann himself. The food was great and was well needed after the jumping about earlier. We met some more locals there, everyone is so friendly here in Donegal.

We are just getting ready to take to the Main Street stage for our introduction to the crowd, we're all shaking like leaves, hopefully we all do well and we don't get to many tricky questions!

We hope we get the opportunity to meet more great people tonight, come along and support us, if not tonight some other night.

Talks to Us all Soon!

2010 Mary's Visited Dublin Today

It was an early start for us Mary's today! Chaperoned by The Democrat's Matt Britton, our Mary Godmother Carol, Elaine Boyle and Tricia. We flew down to Dublin and Mags, the Dublin Mary joined us, which we were all very excited about.

We then headed to Dail Eireann with Senator Pearse Doherty and enjoyed a tour around Leinster House and the debating chamber.

Afterwards we all headed for some light refreshments at the Guinness Storehouse. We learned how to brew Guinness and even took the liberty of pulling some pints!

Onwards then to the Camden Court Hotel where we enjoyed a lovely lunch.

The Dublin sun got a bit too hot in the afternoon so we cooled down by splashing around in the fountain in the gardens of Dublin Castle.

We then headed to the tv3 studios where we gave Sybil and Brian the low down on the Mary from Dungloe festival! (Kate asked Brian if he was available for escorting)!!!!

After a very busy and fantastic day in Dublin we returned to Donegal airport for more snaps.

We will end our Tuesday by watching Elaine Boyle,Lisa McHugh and Shaun McMonagal on the Main Street and then head with our Mary Godmother Carol to bed for some beauty sleep!

It was so lovely of all the businesses to treat us to a fabulous day and we are having the time of our lives being Marys so far! Thanks everyone!

The High Kings - Great Night By All

Despite the Winter weather conditions, the crowd turned out in their hundreds with wet gear and brollies to hear the fantastic High Kings perform at the headliner concert of Mary from Dungloe lastnight (Sunday 25th July).

The group sang the best of Irish Ballads and entertained the crowd who danced and sang along until 11pm.

Finbarr Clancy was delighted that the weather did not dampen the spirits of the crowd and the group came out to get photos taken with fans afterwards.  There was a fantastic buzz at the concert and those who didn’t chance the rain certainly missed out!
